The Business Side:  With global trade all too free now, companies are up against daunting offshore competition.  Business as usual won't cut it anymore.  Doing the same thing and expecting a better result is still a fundamental symptom of insanity.  Offshoring cuts both ways; it's not a sustainable solution that will deliver, long-term. 

Smart management is beginning to realize their most capable critical thinkers and creative problem solvers are the engineers they already employ, or should hire soon.  And that "you get what you pay for" still holds true.  It's almost 2015:  It's time to pay talented engineers their worth and reward innovation and excellence.
